Hotel Radisson Blu

Landscape Architectural Project of Hotel Radisson blu 'Old Mill' and Business building 'New Mill'

Basic point of design concept developed through the Project and Construction is meeting of contemporary and traditional as well as vicinity of Sava river.

The Project is interesting because of different types of greening areas that includes:street greenery, greenery in pots and limited spaces, green roof and green wall.

Landscape design is mostly seen on the roof terrace where dynamic is achieved by terrain leveling with floating bamboo form and aesthetic dynamic through seasons by plant choices. Main accents are two pines Pinus sylvestris on the highest points, while the detail of dry creek with its natural line and texture of surrounding plants relaxes the atmosphere.

Entrance level is characterized by clear positions and choice of trees. Street treeline of Acer freemanii 'Autumn Blaze' and treeline in limeted space of Ginkgo biloba 'Fastigiata Blagon' are elegant alleys entering visitors on the Hotel and Business building patio.

Sculptural forms of Lagerstroemia indica trees beside water area and Acer palmatum trees in wooden pots on the patio contribute to warm welcoming atmosphere of renovated Old Mill building. Cupressus sempervirens 'Stricta' treeon the side entrance complementpicture with old chimney on th back. Bright form of Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata' trees complement contemporary business building architecture.

All green areas are covered with different types of ornamental grasses and bamboos that soften the space. There is a wide range of colours: warm green, gold, red, bordeaux changing through seasons and culminate in September and October.

All in all - 48 trees, approx 200 bamboos, more than 1000 of perennials and ornamental grasses are planted on this beautiful city site.
